In praise of the off-season
Quiet harbours, lower prices and a coast that feels like it is yours.
The shoulder months get a bad name they do not deserve. The water is still clear, the towns are still warm, and the crowds have gone home.
Prices soften, tables open up, and the people who serve you have time to talk.
If your calendar is flexible, the edges of the season are where the Mediterranean is at its most generous.
